Lasoo.com.au wins NetGuide People’s Choice Award

| Lasoo.com.au has won the coveted People’s Choice Award in the 2008 NetGuide Web Awards, beating online giants such as Google and eBay.
Each year, the People’s Choice Award is given to the website with the most votes in total from NetGuide readers across a number of categories, including Best Search Site, Best Online Shopping Site and Best Entertainment Site. Lasoo.com.au was also the winner in the Best New Site category.
The NetGuide Web Awards are held annually to promote and recognise the quality of Australian websites. Having launched in November 2007, this was a first-time appearance in the awards for Lasoo.com.au.
Awards presenter and Channel Nine newsreader, Joanna Townsend, said: “Lasoo is a simple idea, making shopping catalogues available online. It is well executed and helps you identify local bargains... The email service is also a useful bonus.”
The Lasoo.com.au team are hoping to build on the site’s popularity and reach in the coming weeks. A version of the site for mobile phones will be launching next week, allowing consumers to compare prices at the point of sale.
